Linsidecroy was built in 1862 by the Duke of Sutherland as a model farm and was recently restored to make a comfortable family home by Day and Robert Howden who now welcome visitors to stay for bed and breakfast. The guest bedrooms overlook the Kyle of Sutherland which has four salmon rivers flowing into it, and there are sweeping views over to the mountains of the west. Here you are in the midst of Sutherland's spectacular and rugged Highland landscape surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, fresh air, forest and waterfall walks as well as interesting and precious gardens to visit.

Linsidecroy is convenient for both east and west coasts. In the west (Ullapool, 1 hour) an extraordinary mountain landscape, remote inlets and islands. In the east, coastal nature reserves, Dunrobin Castle, whisky distilleries and the cathedral town of Dornoch. Cape Wrath, John o' Groats, the spectacular north coast and ferries to the Orkney islands are about two hours away.

Day is a passionate plantswoman and has transformed the old orchard into a walled garden as well as cultivating and nurturing the surrounding five acres. Robert has run Highland estates for 35 years, which leaves them both with valuable local knowledge and a passion for wildlife. They look forward to sharing their tips and experiences with those also hoping to enjoy the area.
