Behind the blue and white flag of Scotland you can see red and white Ramsay Garden with the defensive walls of Edinburgh Castle behind. It has an exuberant mix of Scots Baronial and Arts and Crafts elements, with towers, heraldry, oriel windows and balconies, and was built by planner and visionary Sir Patrick Geddes for his wife in 1893, incorporating the old Georgian house and studio of Alan Ramsay the poet and his son Alan Ramsay the painter. Geddes called Ramsay Garden the "seven-towered castle I built for my beloved".

This apartment has three grand windows with panoramic views over Edinburgh and Princes Street Gardens, and a balcony - you can see it in the photograph (right)- look for the larger window and balcony under the pointed roof in the middle.

It is quiet, secluded, only 100 paces from the shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs of the Royal Mile, and even has a little known short-cut to the Castle itself.
