A cosy and quiet bed and breakfast in Georgian central Edinburgh.
Abercromby Place, a dignified Georgian terrace dating from the early 1800's, is one of the most central residential streets in Edinburgh, a leisurely nine minutes' stroll from Princes Street.
Number 21b, the home of Gerald Della-Porta, is known as Gerald's Place amongst friends. It is reached through a wrought iron gate, down traditional stone steps to a small courtyard filled with shrubs and flowering plants in pots.
This is a charming and informal place with lots of pictures, colour and objects, a cosy atmosphere, and a host who takes great pleasure in welcoming guests and helping to ensure they have a happy stay in Edinburgh.

Gerald has collected dozens of paintings which cover the walls of the hall and stairs down to the accommodations where there are two bedrooms kept exclusively for bed and breakfast guests.
Both bedrooms are very comfortable and quiet, and have King-size beds which can be made single or double.
Each has: Refrigerator, Tea and Coffee Maker, Hair-Dryer and Make-up mirror,
and a comrehensive range of technology items including Wi-Fi, laptop with high speed broadband, iPod dock station, LCD TV with media box, DVD with library, digital radio/alarm - all free - and trouble-free.

Breakfast is served in the Kitchen/Dining room
Full cooked Scottish breakfast, or vegetarian, organic dried fruits, fresh fruits, soft fruits, mueslis, oats, toast, milk and select Twining teas or fresh filtered coffee - it truly is a feast hot and/or cold.
Guests can be lent the key to the private gardens opposite 21b
Gerald's Place is a completely smoking-free house!

Gerald's Place is open all year.
Minimum stay of 5 nights consecutive. Prices include breakfast.
Room: from £695 per night for 2 persons for 5 night stay. (i.e; £347.50 x 2)
Singles subtract £15 per night.
Triples add £45 per night.
August, Christmas and New Year, 5 nights: from £1095 (i.e; £695+£400 or £547.50 x 2).
Please settle with GBP (£), travel cheques or cash. ATMs are close by in Hanover Street, George Street or St Andrews Square. USD can be exchanged at any bank before 5pm.
Early departure (for whatever reason) is payable in full. Credit cards not accepted.
