A roaring fire in the 300 year old bar

A roaring fire in the Bar, one of the oldest parts of the Inn.

Surrounded by rural countryside of rolling hills, wooded valleys and rivers, Bonchester Bridge is a small village between the two landmarks of Bonchester Hill and Rubers Law (once Roman camps) in the valley of the Rule Water.

The Horse and Hound is a traditional Coaching Inn, open since 1701. It has oak beams, a great central stone fireplace, lots of atmosphere and is full of history and interesting antiques, objects, pictures and prints collected locally.
