Kellas House, built in 1916, is Grade 1 and listed as one of Scotland's finest Arts and Crafts houses.
Situated in the north-east of Scotland, between Elgin and Forres and on the slopes of the Highlands, the Kellas Estate extends to more than 2500 acres. It is a mixed agricultural and sporting estate. Moray enjoys a milder and dryer climate than the west. Amidst this typical Scottish scenery you will find vast moors, this swiftly flowing Lossie River, hills and forests.
The village of Kellas is a 15 minute drive from Elgin and Forres and consists of just a cluster of cottages and Kellas House. It is a convenient base for explorations of the Highlands, the Grampians and lovely Moray coast with its sandy beaches and villages such as Findhorn. The house is on the famous Speyside Malt Whisky Distillery Trail and historical sites such as Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor and other famous castles and Loch Ness. Numerous golf courses locally. Kellas House is a fine country house of the "Arts and Crafts" era and is one of the best examples of its kind. The splendid gardens are well maintained and consist of lawns and woodland. It has very recently been lovingly renovated and refurbished to provide warm, relaxing and charming accommodation for 17 people.
Kellas House can be rented with a cook, whom we strongly recommend. Making it the ideal place for a special family holiday or gathering of friends.
The Lossie River is one of the finest sea trout rivers in Scotland and is also possible to fish for salmon here. Depending on the water level, an average if 120 salmon are caught in the Lossie every year. There is also a big trout fishing pond. Fishing/rod hire by arrangement, clay pigeon shooting and shooting/stalking are possible on the estate.
