Only 30 minutes drive from Glasgow (and 20 from Glasgow Airport), Caroline and John Craig's comfortable family home is a haven of rural peace. Secluded along a half-mile drive, South Branchal (a farmhouse with 18th century origins) looks out over paddocks where Caroline's horses graze, and over the valley of the River Gryfe to hills beyond, and to Ben Lomond in the distance.

The Craigs have set aside a wing for bed and breakfast guests, with two bedrooms each with its own bathroom.

Apart from Glasgow, South Branchal is convenient for day trips to Loch Lomond and the Isles of Arran, Bute, Great Cumbrae, etc. The ferry from Gourock to Dunoon is 25 minutes away, so there's easy access to Southern Argyll, as is the ferry from Troon to Belfast, so staying here could easily be part of a visit to Ireland.

Caroline and John have lived in the West of Scotland all their lives and so are happy to help suggest where to go and the best way to get there – always good subjects for discussion around the breakfast table.

Alba Trikes Tours Ltd is based in the cottage next door to South Branchal B&B. They provide chauffeur-driven motor trikes for touring and excursions and their mission is to give you the experience of your life! Ask Caroline for the details.
