Jill and Bob Knox's Victorian family home in Morningside is set in an especially lovely garden shaded by great cedar trees, 10 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh.

Jill teaches English as a foreign language, and Bob used to be a marine lawyer and Honorary Consul for Belgium. They have enjoyed welcoming guests to stay for many years.

There are two bedrooms for bed and breakfast guests, and this is an excellent place to stay if you would like a relaxing haven of civilisation to return to at the end of a day sightseeing or doing business. For the evening, Morningside has good restaurants and a famous pub.

Morningside is on one of the best bus routes in Edinburgh (city centre 10 minutes). However the walk to or from the centre is very enjoyable and takes about 25 minutes. Both Jill and Bob are very knowledgeable about Scottish matters, and where to go and what to do in Edinburgh.

Comfortable Sitting Room, where you are very welcome to relax, read a book or watch television.
The garden is through the window on the right.

Breakfast is served in the Conservatory; lots of fresh fruit, fruit salad, cereals, toast, tea and coffee, and cooked breakfast such as scrambled egg with smoked salmon.

Jill is very sympathetic to special diets.

Parking: There is one off-road parking space for guests; There is a garage for guests who want to leave their car and not use it during their visit to Edinburgh. Parking is restricted 8.30 - 5.30 pm weekdays but the Knoxes can provide 90 minute Guest Resident Parking permits which you can use if you arrive by car during this period of the day.

£45 to £50 per person per night based on two people sharing a room, and including breakfast.

Special rates sometimes available for longer bookings.
Open for New Year, but closed at Christmas.
No smoking in the house please.
