Lonmay Old Manse is a Five Star bed and breakfast also offering excellent dinner. It is situated just off the B9033 Coastal Trail North between the villages of Crimond and St Combs on Scotland's North East Coast. The house, which is secluded in a two acre garden, has views over the Peterhead - Fraserburgh section of the North East Coastal Trail and you can glimpse Rattray Head Lighthouse and the sand dunes and sea a few miles away in the distance.
The manse was built in 1820 stands on the site of a former 16th century church and manse (Scottish Minister's house). John Wood and Pam Hall restored the house in 2003-4 to be their home and in order to welcome guests from all over the world. This is a friendly and hospitable place to stay with very good food and a tranquil atmosphere.
And, if you would like any advice, Pam and John are happy to offer suggestions and itineraries for exploring this truly 'off the beaten track' part of North East Scotland.
